Sometimes it’s good to throw out your education. Instead of drawing with your accustomed hand, draw with your unaccustomed hand. Instead of following the rules in order to make a good photograph, go out and take a lot of ugly shots. We get all hung up on trying to make a good painting, a good photograph, or maybe we are trying to write a poem other people will like. Sometimes, it’s good to throw out all that stuff and make a mess. You never know, you might get something you like. The idea of taking ugly shots came from Otto von Munchow’s challenge, Go out and photograph something ugly. https://munchow.wordpress.com/
I love these shots. Ugly? Not at all. Thank you for linking to my blog. 🙂

It’s very true! I’ve been writing some very “teenage” music recently, having lots of fun with it, shortly followed by an odd guilt trip that I should be more mature now and writing “grown up” music. Sometimes you’ve just got to let loose and see what happens – these shots could lead you anywhere, I like that!

I bet you’ve picked up something new in your music. I love how the arts are really so interconnected.
