I found this little woodpecker outside the bedroom window. He didn’t see the glass. Carefully picking him up I stroked his tiny body, then lay him on a napkin. For a couple of days I’d come by, say hello and lovingly sketch him. I gave him back to nature by placing him under one of the tall pine trees down by the the creek.
I love these sketches…..made me feel good for today. Hope you are well and enjoying life!

It’s so sad when that happens.
Your delicate drawings are just beautiful, though, Carla. Almost meditative.

It is sad, but I love the challenge in your drawings. The not letting go.

You got me thinking. Drawing is slow art. And always a challenge for me. That’s why I keep going back to it. Each drawing I do asks another question. I have to try to solve it by making another drawing.

It’s sad when that happens. The last drawing in particular carries the feeling of a restful end, lovingly rendered. And I like the one above it, with the gouache is it – or watercolor?

Interesting that it reads that way. I cut out a quick pencil drawing I had made and pasted it in the book – different colored white paper could be gouache. I like the idea. Ill try it Thanks.
