San Francisco Gingerbread House

Can you imagine being five and seeing this sparklie gingerbread house? Christmas music is playing in the background and oooh it smells so sweet!

Made with 7,500 home-baked gingerbread bricks, this house is covered with 650 pounds of candy. The “glue” made up of 1,500 pounds of icing, holds together this  22 feet high and 24 feet wide structure located in the lobby of the Fairmont Hotel. Penguins swim in a clear blue lake beneath a snowy mountain. A pretty good sized train chugs along on it’s track making its way through a couple of tunnels. Look I see a polar bear! And there’s a little desk  and chair with paper and pencil so you can write a letter to Santa.  My eleven year old grand daughter’s first wish is to get the British soldiers out of Afghanistan. What is your first wish?
