What I See Below the Surface – La Jolla

Ocean waves

From dark moist soft

secrets

an orchid shoots up

to vertical stretch.

Yellow, green, purple

transformed

into plum

moonshine.

So sweet with sticky juice

Is it the mouth of Jonah’s whale

this tongue leading to the freckled

depths

of a measled ocean?

LOL I think of Fairyland when my children were little. It was small and pink but to them huge, a little walk down a hill to look into the mouth of the whale. There was a little fish tank there displaying little fish :)

I love both painting and poem. Really lovely. I am happy to have found you!

I like the tale of Jonah, but this painting opens up for so many interpretations. For instance I see – not necessarily clearly – a shark speeding down in the sea. I just love the colours and the shapes. All so dynamic and organic. Beautiful words, too.

I’d be very marvelous for me to be in the bottom of the ocean, and miraculous :D .
Happy Christmas and A Merry New Year!
