Sunshine!! After weeks of rain the sun came out. So did all the residents of this small town. By the two pink balloons there was a stage where some high school girls in checkered full skirts danced and sang songs from the musical Oklahoma. Being low tide the beach was used as a parking lot. At the end of the day,  kids who were playing in tide pools cautiously picked their way back to dry land.cornwall_MG_7419 copy

Today Is Not My Day

August 13, 2009

My blog and my painting have been neglected.  Digital photography has taken over. I’m thinking about mac and pc monitors. Does one show my images lighter than the other?  How far do I want to go when editing my images – just sharpen them a little?  By setting my camera to continuous focus and continuous mode instead of single shot I usually get at least one shot in focus.

When I was in the paint shop waiting for some paint to be mixed this man walked in. I took a big breath, walked up to him and said, “Will you make my day? I posed him outside against this yellow wall which was in the shade. Afterwards, he asked me how many portraits did I need to take?  I said as many as it takes for my hands to stop shaking.  This month I have an assignment to go up to starangers, compliment them and ask to take their picture.
